Activity: Water plants PM
Journal: not losing weight this week, actually up again today.  I will be doing a day fast next week, 2 the week after and 3 day fast the week after.  Not so much for weight loss because all day fast seem to be regained the next weigh-in, but as part of my church's 21 days of prayer and fasting.  Someone asked if all Life Point Church Portsmouth abstains from all food for 3 weeks and my answer is no. "We are encouraged to fast something during that 21 Days. It can be helpful to fast something that you tend to turn to when you are stressed and overwhelmed. Especially if it happens to be harmful or distracting you from turning to God. Fasting these items can help us to deepen our dependency on God if we turn to Him instead of them during that time". Several people abstain from certain foods, many follow the "Daniel" Fast, some fast from eating certain times of the day or even a whole day or multiple days if their doctor approves, some refrain from social media or media in general. Coffee, pop, reality tv, video games ... if it distracts you from turning to God or refraining from it would be a challenging sacrafice, then consider just going 21 days without.  In place of what is fasted is more focus on God through prayer, scripture reading and worship.  It has some of the same purposes as a Revival. Whatever kind of fast you do is private. We don't do it for attention or weight loss. So you won't hear one of us boasting or complaining about it. Nothing fasted is too small if it brings you closer to the Lord.   

This is a weight loss blog so to make it clear my food fasting is not part of church fasting this time so I will write about it, with exception of one food element (and I wont mention it here).
